February + March Wrap-Up

Howdy y’all! I know, I know. This monthly wrap-up is waaaaay overdue. But I still decided to post about this so I could keep track of all the books I have read by the end of the year.

For the month of February, I have read

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

Wizardry, magic, flying broomsticks, and outrageously delicious Hogwarts food. All these and lots more are what’s in store for you when you read. And despite it being a middle-grade book, it is absolutely enjoyable by all. Harry Potter isn’t this hyped for nothing. Read my review here.

In Over Her Head by Anne Plaza

February is often dubbed as the month of love. Ideally, books about love are the perfect books to read during this month to feel its spirit. Whether it be the lack or loss of love, or the pronouncements and joys of being in love, books like In Over Her Head are the ones you should go for! I enjoyed reading and reviewing this. Never Never Part 3 by Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher

If you’ve read a CoHo book before, I’m sure you could already tell this is gonna strike your heart in the best way possible. The love story in this book is quite unique and a really fun, easy read. I highly recommend these for readers who love to read interesting, distinct, and twisted complicated relationships.

Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

Love to read a book that will break you and make you cry for hours? Looking for a book so beautifully tragic it just hurts so good? Need I say more? This book is practically waiting for you to pick it up. Full review to come.

For March, however, I was able to read more books than I expected.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Oh, what a joy it was to come back to the wonderful of Harry Potter (except meeting the Dursleys again, that is). The story just gets better and better! I’m reading this for the first time and now I understand why fans keep asking for more. Secrets are revealed and the past is revisited as our famous trio get to the bottom of everything and try to save Hogwarts. And yes, I recommend this to the few percent of the population, like me, who have yet to read the entire series until now.

In Time by Alexandra Bracken

In this novella, you get to read Suzume’s, or better known as Zu, story when Gabe, a PSI officer, finds her and eventually finds himself wanting to protect her instead of turning her in like what a good PSI officer would do. I liked how we got to read from a different perspective this time as opposed to being all too familiar with what the other side tells us.

After You by Jojo Moyes

This is the sequel of Me Before You, and I adored MBY so much I kind of had high expectations for this one. Unfortunately, I did not think this sequel was necessary because I wanted the ending of the former to be left at that. On a positive note, we get to read what happens next in the life of one Louisa Clark and the least I could tell you is that it’s complexingly relatable (if that’s even a word).

Cities by Carla de Guzman

A love story touched by he uniqueness of the exploration of multiple universes, I was very much satisfied and happy when I read this. You can read me gushing about this here.

All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven

This is a wonderfully written book, hands down. I want to gush about it so much a mini-review wouldn’t do. All I know is that I will recommend this to all of you because I think that this is a book everyone has to read.

More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera

This book will make you laugh and cry and touch your heart so much. It’s about finding happiness, even in the darkest and saddest of places, and living in a world where society shames you for not conforming with everybody else. Not only was this such a good book, it will open your eyes and enlighten you with the important things. For my full review, click here.

Six Of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

Six bad asses banding together to perform an impossible heist. From this statement alone, you’d know this book is going to be epic. And it does not disappoint. Full review to come! 🙂

Aside from that, March was such a special month for me because it is when I got to meet one of my favorite authors, Sarah J. Maas! I was able to read all of her books and am in love with every single one of them  not to mention the characters there, too, so meeting her was so great and it meant the world to me. I’ll be posting a recap of my journey soon so stay tuned 🙂

I didn’t set a TBR for April since I noticed I can’t follow through the list lately and just read books I’m in the mood for. I am currently reading The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater which is also Fanboy Book Club’s Book Of The Month.
