D.E.A.R.: ILLUMINAE

Howdy yaโ€™ll! This is just going to be a brief post, unlike all my other ones. (I need to control myself with writing lengthy posts). I just wanted to share some good news with you โ€“ something that has been on my wish list for so long, and now, now I FINALLY have it in my hands!

If you follow my tweets, (and also since this is the title of the post) youโ€™ll probably guess by now what exactly I am referring to.

YES, it is getting that gorgeous hardcover copy of Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff! I FINALLY HAVE ILLUMINAE YOU GUYS AND I COULD NOT GET OVER HOW GORGEOUS THE COVER IS, THE DUST JACKET, THE FORMAT OF HOW THIS STORY IS TOLDโ€“ EVERYTHING. *I couldnโ€™t resist skimming through the pages* I love it from cover to cover โค I am so ready to dive into this book and Iโ€™m reading it as we speak (or type). I could already feel how much this book will hold my dear heart so tight and just make a home for itself there. No complaints here ๐Ÿ˜›

Here is a lame attempt I did of taking an “artistic” photograph.

So why D.E.A.R.?

D.E.A.R. basically stands for Drop Everything And Read. This was an activity we did when I was in high school. In the beginning of the school year, we all get to pick a book and for one hour per week, weโ€™d be given time to read the books we chose. No lessons, no interruptions โ€“ just you and the book for one hour each week.

This inspired me to start posting books on my DEAR list here on my blog. This means Iโ€™ll be sharing with you books Iโ€™m dropping everything to read. And currently, its Illuminae. (I honestly canโ€™t tell you how much I want to emphasize how happy I am with this.)

Assuming Iโ€™ll be able to read something new every week given the hectic schedule Iโ€™m juggling now, Iโ€™ll try to post about this once every week. ๐Ÿ™‚

More than that, Iโ€™m planning to host a #DEARchat when my schedule allows me. Iโ€™ll keep you posted on my twitter and here on my blog so that we could all share our bookish feels and get to know other people with the same thoughts and books to D.E.A.R. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    1. Omg I posted by accident – sorry for the double post!
My DEAR at the moment is… Succubus Blues by Richelle Mead. I read this when I was younger but didn’t appreciate it because of my lack of emotional maturity! It’s so addictive though – I’ve neglected everything to read it!

      1. It’s okay! ๐Ÿ™‚
I haven’t read any Richelle Mead books yet. But I will change this soon. So you’re rereading it? I know you have very much reached emotional maturity by now. Happy reading! ๐Ÿ™‚

      2. Aw, haha, thanks girl! :’3
Her books are a hit or miss (for me, it is more often a hit). Yeah! The book has some mature content so when I was young, I didn’t see the emotional nuances in the books – I seem them now though! ^_^

      3. Glad to hear that! ๐Ÿ™‚ Have you read the Vampire Academy series? The Booktubers I follow are obsessed with it but I’m still having double thoughts on it. Anyways, enjoy reading, CW! ๐Ÿ˜Š

      4. I HAVE! I really liked it, though I was a bit disappointed with the ending. Tbh I’d read Vampire Academy JUST TO READ Bloodlines, which is the spin-off series! It has one of the best romances everrrrrr. :’)

      5. So I’ve heard. Aghhhh I have to put this on my TBR now. Amazingly, our bookstore has the Bloodlines series so I’m gonna save up for them ๐Ÿ˜„ Although I do have a bit of a problem with their covers…

  2. It was like reading what I did when I bought Illuminae. Hahaha. Ditto Maan. Definitely saying YES to that chat. Yes. Yes. Yes.

Anyways, I’m DEAR-ing Carry On by Rainbow Rowell right now. And I still have to say what happened when I finished Illuminae. Basically, it consisted of jumping from all the plot twists hahaha.

  3. Yay for Illuminae!!!!!! I absolutely adored that book and am so happy you’re finally reading it! ๐Ÿ˜€ And D.E.A.R., how I miss thee. I was basically the only one in my grade who actually liked D.E.A.R., but I wish we had it for an hour in high school! We had it in middle school, but don’t have it anymore ๐Ÿ˜ฆ I love this idea and can’t wait to see more of your D.E.A.R. posts in the future!
