Howdy ya’ll! This is just going to be a brief post, unlike all my other ones. (I need to control myself with writing lengthy posts). I just wanted to share some good news with you – something that has been on my wish list for so long, and now, now I FINALLY have it in my hands!

If you follow my tweets, (and also since this is the title of the post) you’ll probably guess by now what exactly I am referring to.

YES, it is getting that gorgeous hardcover copy of Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff! I FINALLY HAVE ILLUMINAE YOU GUYS AND I COULD NOT GET OVER HOW GORGEOUS THE COVER IS, THE DUST JACKET, THE FORMAT OF HOW THIS STORY IS TOLD– EVERYTHING. *I couldn’t resist skimming through the pages* I love it from cover to cover ❤ I am so ready to dive into this book and I’m reading it as we speak (or type). I could already feel how much this book will hold my dear heart so tight and just make a home for itself there. No complaints here 😛

Here is a lame attempt I did of taking an “artistic” photograph.

So why D.E.A.R.?

D.E.A.R. basically stands for Drop Everything And Read. This was an activity we did when I was in high school. In the beginning of the school year, we all get to pick a book and for one hour per week, we’d be given time to read the books we chose. No lessons, no interruptions – just you and the book for one hour each week.

This inspired me to start posting books on my DEAR list here on my blog. This means I’ll be sharing with you books I’m dropping everything to read. And currently, its Illuminae. (I honestly can’t tell you how much I want to emphasize how happy I am with this.)

Assuming I’ll be able to read something new every week given the hectic schedule I’m juggling now, I’ll try to post about this once every week. 🙂

More than that, I’m planning to host a #DEARchat when my schedule allows me. I’ll keep you posted on my twitter and here on my blog so that we could all share our bookish feels and get to know other people with the same thoughts and books to D.E.A.R. 😉

What’s the book you’re dropping everything to read right now? Feel free to share your thoughts with me in the comments and also my other social media accounts:

  1. It was like reading what I did when I bought Illuminae. Hahaha. Ditto Maan. Definitely saying YES to that chat. Yes. Yes. Yes.

Anyways, I’m DEAR-ing Carry On by Rainbow Rowell right now. And I still have to say what happened when I finished Illuminae. Basically, it consisted of jumping from all the plot twists hahaha.

I feel I’ll have those jumping fits as well. 😂 *I’m having jumping fits of Shadow and Bone right now haha* Happy reading with Carry On, Bianca!!

  2. Yay for Illuminae!!!!!! I absolutely adored that book and am so happy you’re finally reading it! 😀 And D.E.A.R., how I miss thee. I was basically the only one in my grade who actually liked D.E.A.R., but I wish we had it for an hour in high school! We had it in middle school, but don’t have it anymore 😦 I love this idea and can’t wait to see more of your D.E.A.R. posts in the future!

    • Thank you so much!!! I’m liking this book so far and pretty much sure I’ll be loving this generally. I’m already obsessed with the cover as well. I was one of the few who loved D.E.A.R., too! I miss it so much and I’m thankful here’s an opportunity to bring it back! 😄

  3. Omg that’s awesome!!! I’d love to do a DEAR in my own high school, but unfortunately we don’t have class time ahahaaa *tears*.
In other news, YAAS I CAN’T WAIT FOR YOU TO READ ILLUMINAE!!! It is positively-ively GLORIOUS in every way possible. Also, the picture is very artistic and CAPTURES ITS MAGNIFICENCE PERFECTLY.
